Axe (sometimes in American English; see spelling differences) is a tool that has been used for thousands of years to shape, split and cut wood, harvest wood, use as a weapon, and use as a symbol of etiquette or heraldry. Axe has many forms and special uses, but it usually consists of an axe with a handle or helmet.
Before the advent of modern axes, stone age hand axes began to be used by BP 1.5 million years ago, without a handle. Later it was fixed on the wooden handle. An example of the earliest treated shaft is a stone head with some form of wooden handle connected in a way suitable for the material and use available. With the development of these technologies, axes made of copper, bronze and steel appeared. The shaft usually consists of a head and a handle.
An axe is an example of a simple machine because it is a wedge or double bevel. This reduces the amount of work required for the wood chopper. It divides the wood into two parts by pressure concentration on the blades. The handle of the axe can also be used as a lever, allowing the user to increase the force on the cutting edge - the full length of the axe without using the handle is called Cho holding the axe. Sometimes it will play a positive role in the use of side axes, but for the use of double-edged axes, it will reduce the efficiency.
Generally, the cutting axis has a smaller wedge angle, while the separating axis has a larger angle. Most of the axes are double bevel, i.e. about the axis symmetry of the blade, but some professional wide axes have only one bevel of the blade, and usually use the offset handle, they can be used for finishing, without causing damage to the knuckle of the user. Now they are not so common. They used to be part of the woodworking and carpenter tool kit, not just for forestry. A tool of similar origin is the hook.
Although plastic or fiberglass handles are also common, most modern shafts have steel and wood handles, usually Pecan in the United States, and soot in Europe and Asia. Modern shafts are specialized according to purpose, size and form. A shaft with a handle designed for a short handle of one hand is often referred to as a shaft, but the term "Hand Axe" also refers to a shaft without a handle. The axe is often a small hatchet with a handle, usually hammered on the back (poll). As an easy to make weapon, axes are often used in combat.
