Karate is a martial art developed by Ryukyu Kingdom. It was developed from Ryukyu martial arts under the influence of Chinese martial arts, especially Fujian white crane. Karate is now mainly an amazing art, which uses boxing, kicking, knee fighting, elbow fighting and opening techniques, such as knife, spear and heel. In history and some modern styles, fighting, throwing, joint locking, restraint and critical strike are also taught. Karate practitioners are called karate.
Ryukyu Kingdom was annexed by Japan in 1879. Karate was brought to Japan during the migration in the early 20th century, when Ryukyu people, especially Okinawans, were looking for jobs in Japan. After the taish era, the course was systematically taught in Japan. In 1922, Japanese Ministry of education invited gichin funakoshi to Tokyo for Karate performance. In 1924, kyeongyi University established the first university karate club in mainland Japan. By 1932, major universities in Japan had established karate clubs. In this era of Japanese militarism, the name has changed from - both are called karate in Japanese - to a form of combat that shows that the Japanese want to develop a Japanese style. After the Second World War, Okinawa became an important military base of the United States, and karate was very popular among the soldiers stationed there.
Martial arts films in the 1960s and 1970s greatly improved the popularity of martial arts around the world, and the word karate began to be used in English to refer to all the oriental martial arts based on strike in a general way. Karate schools are beginning to appear around the world, catering to people who are interested in leisure and who are looking for more in-depth study of art.
Shigeru Egami, chief lecturer of Shotokan Dojo, said: "most of the followers of karate abroad pursue karate only because of its combat skills Movies and TV shows Karate is described as a mysterious fighting method that can lead to death or death. One hit causes damage The mass media presents a kind of pseudo art which is far from the real thing. " "Karate may be considered as an internal conflict or a marathon for a lifetime. Only through self-discipline, hard training and creative efforts can karate be won," he said
On September 28, 2015, karate, together with baseball, softball, skateboarding, surfing and sports climbing, was shortlisted for the final and considered for the 2020 Summer Olympics. On June 1, 2016, the IOC Executive Board announced its support for the inclusion of all five sports (baseball and softball as one sport) in the 2020 Olympics.
