Iron man is a 2008 American Superhero Movie based on Marvel cartoon characters of the same name, produced by Marvel pictures and released by Paramount Pictures. This is the first movie in Marvel's movie universe. Directed by Jon Favreau, the film was produced by the writing teams of mark Ferguson and hawk ostby, as well as the writers of art Marcum and Matt Holloway. It stars Robert Downey Jr., Terence Howard, Jeff Bridges, Sean Tubb and Gwyneth Paltrow. Among the iron man, industrialist and chief engineer Tony Stark built the powered exoskeleton and became the technologically advanced superhero iron man.
The film has been produced in Universal Pictures, 20th century fox or new line cinema since 1990, until Marvel studios regained its copyright in 2006. Marvel put the project into production as the first self funded film with Paramount Pictures. As its distributor. Favreau signed up as a director to pursue a sense of naturalism. He chose to film in California and refused to shoot comics on the east coast to distinguish the film from many superhero films shot in a New York City style environment. Filming began in March 2007 and ended in June. During the shooting process, the actors are free to have a dialogue, because the pre production focuses on the story and action. The rubber and metal versions of the armor made by Stan Winston are mixed with computer-generated images to create title characters.
Iron Man premiered in Sydney on April 14, 2008 and opened in the cinema on May 2, 2008. The film has achieved great commercial success, with box office revenue of more than $585 million and won wide acclaim. Downey's performance as Tony Stark was particularly praised. The American Academy of film chose the film as one of the top ten films of the year. It has also been nominated for two Oscars for best music editing and best visual effects. The sequels Iron Man 2 and Iron Man 3 were released on May 7, 2010 and may 3, 2013, respectively.
