Hanuman is an ardent devotee of Lord Rama and one of the main characters in various versions of the epic Ramayana found in the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia. As a member of chiranjivi, he has also been mentioned in several other works, such as Mahabharata, various Puranas and some texts of Jana, Buddhism and Sikhs. Later articles also described him as the incarnation of Shiva. Hanuman is the son of Anjana and kesari, and the son of Vayu, the God of wind. According to some stories, he played an important role in his birth.
His theological origins in Hinduism are unclear. Other theories include that he has an ancient origin, that is, the non Aryan deity of the Vedic Ayan fanization, or that he is an integrated deity, which appears in the literature of the folk yakesha protectionist deity and theological symbolism. :39–40
Although Hanuman is one of the main characters in the ancient Indian epic Ramayana, there is no evidence of his devout worship in the ancient and medieval texts and archaeological sites. According to the American industrialist Philip lutgandorf, who is famous for his research on Hanuman, after the introduction of Islamic rule into the Indian subcontinent and about 1000 years after the formation of Ramayana in the 2nd century A.D., the theological significance and dedication to Hanuman appeared. Sages of the bhakti movement, such as samarth Ramdas, say Hanuman is a symbol of nationalism and resistance to persecution. In modern times, his portraits and temples are becoming more and more common. Shakti and bhakti see him as an ideal combination of "strength, heroism and decisive excellence" and "love and emotional dedication to his personal God Rama". In later literary works, he has always been the patron saint of wrestling, acrobatics, meditation and diligent scholarship. He symbolizes human's remarkable inner self-control, belief and service to the cause, hidden behind the first impressions of creatures that look like monkeys.
In addition to being a Hindu deity, Hanuman also appears in Jana and Buddhism. He is also a legendary figure in legends and art outside the Indian subcontinent, such as Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia and Indonesia. Outside India, Hanuman has many things in common with the Hindu version of India, but there are other differences. He was brave, courageous and committed, much like the Sanskrit tradition, but not celibate. He married other cultures and had children, such as some regional versions of India. Hanuman is regarded by scholars as the inspiration of monkey hero in fable adventure. Journey to the west is a Chinese poetic novel influenced by the travel of Buddhist monk xuanz (602-664 A.D.) to India.
