Scarves (including multiple scarves) are a piece of cloth worn around the neck for warmth, sun protection, cleaning, fashion or religious reasons. They can be made of various materials, such as wool, cashmere, linen or cotton. This is a common tie.

Scarves have been worn since ancient times. The 9th century B.C. statue of Assur Nasir par II is characterized by the emperor wearing a cape. By the early 19th century, scarves had become a real fashion accessory for both men and women. By the middle of the 20th century, scarves had become one of the most important and commonly used clothing accessories for men and women. In cold weather, a thick knitted scarf, usually made of wool, is tied around the neck to keep warm. This is usually accompanied by a heavy coat or coat.

In a dry, dusty, warm climate, or in an environment with a lot of airborne pollutants, thin headscarves, kerchiefs or handkerchiefs are usually worn on the eyes, nose and mouth to keep the hair clean. With the passage of time, this custom has developed into a fashion commodity in many cultures, especially among women. Bow tie is the ancestor of tie and bow tie, which evolved from this kind of scarf in Croatia.

In India, wool scarves made from bandhani are becoming more and more popular. Bandhani or bandhej is the name of tie dye technology, which is usually used in Bhuj and Mandvi in Kutch District, Gujarat.
